ORDERING & SHIPPING

One of your gift packs isn't quite right, can I swap out an item or add something else?

YES! Your order is eligible for substitutions and additions of our products. You can also make a custom box. If you want something included that you don't see in our catalog, just ask! We might stock it elsewhere, OR you can always ship an outside item to us to pack with your order for no additional fee.

How do you safely ship cheese?

We successfully and safely ship cheese nationwide all year to all 50 states including Hawaii. All orders ship from our own facility in Almena, WI. We pay close attention to the forecast for the route of all orders to make sure that we always use the appropriate packaging materials, such as insulation and cold packs.

How do I add customization and branding?

All orders are eligible for a free branded insert, and we have items in our catalog with options such as custom engraving. We also have several cheesy themes that you can customize your box with for any special occasion. You can also ship us other items, or send us your own card to print. If you have another idea, just reach out! We love creating custom orders.

How many boxes do I have to order?

Just one...but it gets better! Larger orders come with additional discounts, so you can order multiple boxes and we will work with you to ship them to your recipients throughout the year on your schedule, so that whenever you need to send another delicious gift box, all you need to do is tell us when and where!

Can I schedule my order?

Yes, you can schedule your order to ship on a specific day, or even schedule different parts of your order to ship on different days! For example if one client is out of town we can hold their package until they return. You can even place an order for something like birthday gifts for staff to be shipped throughout the year to each recipient. We are always happy to do whatever we can to make your experience with us easy and timely for everyone involved!

Do you guarantee every order?

YES, every order is guaranteed! If you or one of your recipients' packages are damaged or lost, all you need to do is let us know and we will be happy to send a replacement. Our success rate for delivering delicious cheese in perfect condition is incredibly high, and we are very grateful to all of the incredible people who help to ship our products. However, when problems arise, our priority is always to give every customer a fair and satisfying experience. As a small company built on a strong work ethic and community values, we take pride in making things right when they go wrong!

What IS a cheese curd?

This is one of our favorite questions, because we LOVE cheese curds! Cheese curds are fresh pieces of cheese that haven't been dried or aged. Cheese curds are soft, salty, and moist. If eaten warm, they squeak, which is why you hear us talk about "squeaky cheese" so often! They can be eaten as a snack, breaded and fried, or used in more creative ways such as a pizza topping or salad ingredient. We often give them out at shows, so come see us sometime and try them for yourself!

What kind of milk do you use, and how are the cows treated?

All of our cheeses are made with pasteurized cow’s milk. We only use rBST free milk from family farms in Wisconsin.We want everyone who works with us to be treated well, and that includes the cows! The farmers who provide the milk for our cheeses feel they have an ethical and moral obligation to be attentive to all aspects of their cows' health and well-being. They follow strict standards in how the cows are housed and treated.

Are any of your cheeses vegetarian?

Most of our cheeses are 100% vegetarian. Non-vegetarian cheeses are either made with animal rennet or have additional ingredients that are not vegetarian. Trappiste and Door County Duet are made with animal rennet. All other cheeses that are not vegetarian have added ingredients that are featured in the product title and ingredients list, such as Buffalo Chicken Cheese Curds and Bacon Baked Bliss. 

Is the cheese shelf stable and do I need to refrigerate it?

Our cheeses are not shelf stable because they are not processed. This is what makes them so delicious! The cheese should be kept in a cool, dry area consistently below 60°F to maintain its best taste and texture. Harder, older cheeses like Northwoods Parmesan, and 8-Year Aged Cheddar will keep a little longer outside the refrigerator because of their relatively low moisture content but should still be kept cold long-term.

Where do your other products come from?

As a Wisconsin cheese company, supporting other small businesses in our state is very important to us. The other food items that we sell with our cheese, such as crackers and mustard, come from other small Wisconsin businesses. The name of each of those products features that small business. Part of what makes a gift box from us such an unforgettable experience is that not only are you sending your own branding to a client, you are telling every recipient that you care about supporting small businesses that create quality products.
